House of Xolile (HoX) is a full-service residential and commercial design studio dedicated to promoting art and wellness in interiors.

Born out of a deep passion for design that promotes both individual expression and holistic wellbeing - Our journey began with Black & Well Design, founded in 2020 by designer and artist, Kiera Blackwell - with an understanding that spaces have a profound impact on mental health and overall quality of life.

With nearly 20 years of industry experience, Kiera grew up outside of Philadelphia, spending her childhood summers in South Carolina with her grandparents. Encouraged by her engineer father, she developed a love for math and problem-solving, which led her to study Interior Design at The Art Institute of Philadelphia, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture.

Kiera’s work in Pennsylvania and California, specializing in residential, corporate, healthcare, and education design, has been profoundly influenced by her travels, nature, and urban landscapes. Her compassionate, human-centered approach remains a cornerstone of every project concept.

At House of Xolile, we listen to our clients and lead with love and the highest standards of design professionalism and excellence, which continue to inspire the ethos of House of Xolile.

The name “Xolile” meaning “peace” in Xhosa, was given to Kiera’s first grandchild, Xolile. The name reflects our commitment to creating serene environments that foster tranquility, well-being, and balance.
